I don't hide how much I love Las Vegas, NV. I've been a tourist there, I've lived there, I've been a tourist there again, and I would go back any time that I could. A couple of things got me thinking about this topic. One of those was a friend having successfully completed a cross country road trip in the days of COVID-19. The other was the news that New Zealand has beaten the outbreak. So, since I was thinking about next season anyway, I decided to put a little thought into road-tripping ski and snowboard trips for this coming season. This isn't a guide to such things. This is mostly me trying to get everyone as excited about road trips as I get about them, which could go double for a ski and snowboard trip. After a short introduction based on what's going on in the U.S. right now, I get into how we might have to prepare to deal with COVID-19 restrictions during the next ski/snowboard season. I know, we all hope that we won't have to, but as the Boy Scouts say, Be Prepared. Summertime is used by a lot of us to prepare for the next winter, either with new gear or gear maintenance, tailored workouts, trip planning, and the like. Being prepared for continued COVID-19 restrictions is part of that. So, I present to you my take on it. The way I end up looking at it makes it easier than I thought it would be. If I'm right. Do you have the same fascination with lost and/or closed ski hills that I do? Have you ever considered the lost and closed ski areas dotting the country? Do you not realize they exist because of how lost some might be?
