I've talked about my opinion on a lot of the lawsuits that seem to come up each year against ski hills, and I'm sure I'll talk about it again at some point in the future, but I'm also talking about it now. Why? Well, while I am hopeful of a great season, even during the times of COVID-19, I have a feeling that it's going to be a season of lawsuits, not just centered around injury, liability, and negligence, but also around COVID-19. Part of me sees it coming. So, this is my plea to the masses to resist the urge to sue when it isn't necessary and to take a little responsibility for one's actions or inactions. As I close out the "Prepping For Next Season" series here at the beginning of season two, I just wanted to do a quick talk about the times when we're going to have to exercise a little patience, especially for the coming 2020/2021 season. As the second season of the Ski Rex Media podcast began, I was talking all about prepping for the next ski/snowboard season. Just a few general ideas to think about as we start prepping our gear, our bodies, our minds, and start planning those ski trips in 2020/2021. But get this...The Season Is Started! That's right, for anyone who has been able to make their way to North Jersey, skiing and riding is already a thing. Big Snow American Dream, the only indoor skiing & snowboarding facility in North America, reopened on the first of September and has seen a fair share of folks taking advantage of it. This includes the #1 Fan & Hype Man of Ski Rex Media, Rob G. By the time this post he will have been there two or three times, but we talk to him all about that first time. The Ski Rex Media Podcast returns for season two! Speaking of seasons, let's talk about prepping for the coming season...the winter of 2020/2021. In this episode, I give a quick overview of what I do when the summer turns to fall when it comes to the gear I have, the gear I need, and the gear I want. I figure this might help you to take a look at your gear inventory and start thinking about getting ready before the winter. Now, this isn't a tutorial on how to maintain or fix gear that comes out of summer storage. No, this is more like a reminder to take a look at it now so you don't get out on the hill in November and find that you need something fixed or that you just need something. There might also be a couple of things here that one could overlook. I hope that you get something out of it or I hope you get a chuckle and some enjoyment out of it. As you can see from the time stamp, this one is going to be very quick. It's also not as much of an announcement, or even really a season finale, as much as it is me saying that I need a week or two off from the podcast. It's nothing major. I just want to do the redesign of the Ski Rex Media HQ lackluster Studio 1 for the video fans and then get a little more structure for at least a few episodes, which will work out for both the video and audio fans. Though I feel part of the appeal is the randomness of topics, I feel that it's too random sometimes. So, let me get that done and I'll be back P.D.Q.
