Episode Twenty-One - An Episode For King Pine Ski Area ft. Shawn Taylor & Chris Setchell

How are you doing today? Are you ready for a double-header guest episode of the Ski Rex Media Podcast? I hope so because that is exactly what you are getting this week. For today's episode, I bring you two of the folks I met at King Pine Ski Area a couple of weeks ago. These folks are part of the many that keep the show rolling over there. First, Shawn Taylor, Asst. GM and Ops. Manager at King Pine Ski Area. Shawn has been with the area for a while, so we were able to get into some of the histories of King Pine, what it's like to have been there for so long, and some of what they have going on here in the 21st century. Second, Chris Setchell, the head of the ski school. This guy has been around the world, landed at King Pine, and has a vision for what he would like their ski school to become. Not only do we talk about running a mountain, which we usually do with folks in similar positions, but Tim has a ton of stories beyond that. He also has a real passion for New England ski culture and some interesting insight into that culture since he is from the midwest. It's been just shy of a year since I've had a Hall of Fame inductee on the program. Well, a new-this-year inductee. Of course, I ask him how it feels to be going into the Hall of Fame this year, too. Bonus Episode- A Day With The NEHSA New England Winter Sports Clinic For Veterans With Disabilities

Hello Fan & Friends! Today I am bringing you a bonus episode that is also a sequel to the last brand-new episode on the podcast. The last new episode, which was Ep. 17, featured Carly Bascom, Exec. Dir. at the New England Healing Sports Assoc. That episode debuted right in the middle of NEHSA's week-long New England Winter Sports Clinic for Veterans with Disabilities. So, I thought that would be the perfect day to head down to Mount Sunapee and take a look at this event for myself. This episode features me walking around talking to folks and getting an interview with a skier who is visually impaired. In fact, I got to ski with that group. It was a great day and I think you'll get a kick out of what some of the veterans and volunteers had to say. Shout outs and thank you to Carly, Jenny, Carlos, Linda, and Ray for talking to me about the program and to Rob, Bob, Kim, and Mark for letting me join in on the visually impaired experience.
