This week, the podcast is staying local to Ski Rex Media HQ and my home and partner mountain, Whaleback Mountain. I was able to get in another in-person interview with Trevor Ajamil & Shawn Cahill, the founders of NE Stomps. NE Stomps is a small, VT-based manufacturer of stomp pads. In this episode, we talk about the reasons for having a stomp pad, talk about why they got into making them, riding in and around the Upper Valley here in VT and NH, as well as other places, and a few other things, as well. You even see an accidental cameo from Whaleback Mountain Exec. Director, Jon Hunt. But, you have to be looking for it during the video version. Thank you for watching and I do hope that you enjoyed it.For more information about NE Stomps, as well as being able to see and order any of the stomp pads they produce, please head to their website at https://www.nestomps.com. Also, don’t forget to follow them on Instagram. They’ll surely appreciate it.--Ski Rex Media - We talk skiing, snowboarding, general snow sports, and push the idea that these can be for everyone.--Visit skirexmedia.com for more, including the Ski Rex Media Blog, and/or follow Ski Rex Media on the following platforms:Ski Rex Media On Facebook: @SkiRexMediaSki Rex Media On Twitter: @SkiRexMediaSki Rex Media On Instagram: @skirexmediaSki Rex On YouTube: Ski Rex MediaEmail Ski Rex Media: skirex4ever@gmail.com--Ski Rex Media Is On Patreon--If you would like to support Ski Rex Media, and believe me, it will be wicked appreciated, you can head to my Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/skirexmediaThe Ski Rex Media Podcast Is Also Available Through;BuzzsproutSpotifyiHeartRadioApple Podcasts or The Apple Podcasts AppStitcherAmazon MusicPandoraThe Ski Rex Media Mersh Shop is open and ready for you. So, Ski Rex Media has done a few things involving skiing youth, as of late. I was at the Tristate Championship for the Big Air & Slopestyle days. I also visited the Waterville Valley Acad. kids at Waterville Valley for a moguls training session. Then, I got to talk to Seth Ehrlich, the Exec. Director of SOS Outreach, an organization dedicated to getting kids on snow. This week, the podcast continues to work with kids by having four of them, over two sessions, as guests on the podcast. In this episode, we get the kid's perspective and feelings on snowsports. In fact, you could say this is the episode that comes from the mouths of babes. Enjoy as some of my youngest fans get to take part in the Ski Rex Media Podcast. Hello! Welcome to another brand new episode of the Ski Rex Media Podcast. If you follow Ski Rex Media across social media, you may have noticed that I have been putting up photos and videos from youth competitions and training sessions. Well, this episode continues on a theme that is centered around kids and snowsports. This week, I get to talk to Seth Ehrlich, the Exec. Director of SOS Outreach, an organization that introduces kids of all shapes and sizes to the wonders of snow sports. Seth tells us all about what the organization does, as well as gets into the history of the organization. We also talk skiing, of course, and tell the story of how we met at the U.S. Ski & Snowboard induction gala at the beginning of March. I really dug on this interview and Seth will be back next season, and he will also be bringing a guest of his own. For now, though, I hope you enjoyed this one as much as I did, and thank you for listening.--Ski Rex Media - We talk skiing, snowboarding, general snow sports, and push the idea that these can be for everyone.--Visit skirexmedia.com for more, including the Ski Rex Media Blog, and/or follow Ski Rex Media on the following platforms:Ski Rex Media On Facebook: @SkiRexMediaSki Rex Media On Twitter: @SkiRexMediaSki Rex Media On Instagram: @skirexmediaSki Rex On YouTube: Ski Rex MediaEmail Ski Rex Media: skirex4ever@gmail.com--Ski Rex Media Is On Patreon--If you would like to support Ski Rex Media, and believe me, it will be wicked appreciated, you can head to my Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/skirexmediaThe Ski Rex Media Podcast Is Also Available Through;BuzzsproutSpotifyiHeartRadioApple Podcasts or The Apple Podcasts AppStitcherAmazon MusicPandoraThe Ski Rex Media Mersh Shop is open and ready for you. Reaching the Hall of Fame takes a lifetime of work and achievement...unless one is just going to cover the induction gala as a journalist. Then it just takes a few emails and phone calls. I revived that email just a couple of weeks ago and made my way to Bretton Woods this past Saturday to attend the 2022 US Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame Induction Gala. For this episode, I do a bit of a recap, of my thoughts and feelings about the gala, a few stories, and I even throw in a few interviews. I really enjoyed being able to go to the event and I hope you enjoy this episode. How about an extra episode this week? The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame induction events are taking place this weekend at Bretton Woods, NH, which I will attend. It's because of this that I had the chance to speak to one of the inductees. For this episode, I get to talk to Holly Flanders, a pro-racer from back in the day. She and I talk about parts of her career, racing and after, what it is like to be a hall of famer and a few other things. Check it out, won't you? Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoyed it.For more information about Holly Flanders, including her motivational work, head to her website at https://hollyflanders.com/. This week on the podcast, I present to you my first spin-off episode, which happened quite coincidently. That story does come up at the beginning of the interview, but the interview itself is with Charles McNall, creator of The Chuck Bucket. What is The Chuck Bucket? Well, it's a device used to carry one's skis & boards on their vehicle. Charles and I talk all about his product, the advantages of using it over a set of traditional roof bars and racks, the future of The Chuck Bucket, and skiing, of course. Charles is out west in Utah and has been getting out on the hill. Thank you for listening and I do hope that you enjoyed it.For more information on The Chuck Bucket, including how to get one of your own, please head to their website at https://thechuckbucket.com/. It’s not often that many of us get to say that we skied or snowboarded at a private ski club. The main reasons are that there isn’t one close by or we just aren’t members of any ski club that is close by. Well, I, as well as my assistant/producer, Travis, got to ski at one on February 11th, 2022. How and why? That’s what this episode is all about. This week, I have a two-part episode for you. The first part is a chat with Bill Benneyan, the Executive Director & GM of the Hermitage Club, which is right on Haystack Mountain in Wilmington, VT. We talk about the history of Haystack, the present & future, what it takes to become a member, what they offer, and a bunch of other things. It’s a pretty neat interview with someone who knows a bit about the industry. Then, stick around after Bill’s interview. Of course, it will be just me doing a similar closing as the one I always do after interviews and as the episode ends, but I go into a bit more than that first. I give you my take on the private ski club experience, whether or not I would join one if I could, and what it’s like to ski at Haystack now that it’s a private club versus what it was like to ski there back in the 90s when it was part of the American Skiing Company. I think you’ll get a kick out of this one, as well as some of the social media posts I did while we were there. Head to the Ski Rex Media social media links below to find those. Thank you again for watching, as always, and I hope that you enjoyed it.If you would like more information about the Hermitage Club, feel free to visit their website at https://www.hermitageclub.com. All the information you need about contacting the club, joining the club, what they offer for when you do join, social media links and much more can be found there.--Ski Rex Media - We talk skiing, snowboarding, general snow sports, and push the idea that these can be for everyone.--Visit skirexmedia.com for more, including the Ski Rex Media Blog, and/or follow Ski Rex Media on the following platforms:Ski Rex Media On Facebook: @SkiRexMediaSki Rex Media On Twitter: @SkiRexMediaSki Rex Media On Instagram: @skirexmediaSki Rex On YouTube: Ski Rex MediaEmail Ski Rex Media: skirex4ever@gmail.com--Ski Rex Media Is On Patreon--If you would like to support Ski Rex Media, and believe me, it will be wicked appreciated, you can head to my Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/skirexmediaThe Ski Rex Media Mersh Shop is open and ready for you. This week on the Ski Rex Media Podcast, I offer to you another interview with the person that runs a ski mountain. This week, I got the chance to talk to Lindsay DesLauriers, President of Bolton Valley Resort here in Vermont. It’s a wonderful place, one of my favorites. In this interview we talk a little about the mountain’s history, Lindsay’s positions there, including the one she held in high school, we talk about the mountains present and future, as well as a little bit of the goings-on there at Bolton Valley. Oh, though I did try to avoid it, we did bring up her brothers, but only for a little bit. I really think this is a fun interview, which I hope you enjoy, as well. Thank you for listening. For more information about Bolton Valley Resort, including tickets prices & sales, events calendar, hours, contact information, and social media links, please head to https://www.boltonvalley.com.Also, don’t forget that Lindsay, her father, and I think at least one of her brothers, were contributors to the Teton Gravity Research & Indy Pass film, In Pursuit of Soul, which you can find at https://youtu.be/ifbKVYn4UCg. --Ski Rex Media - We talk skiing, snowboarding, general snow sports, and push the idea that these can be for everyone.--Visit skirexmedia.com for more, including the Ski Rex Media Blog, and/or follow Ski Rex Media on the following platforms:Ski Rex Media On Facebook: @SkiRexMediaSki Rex Media On Twitter: @SkiRexMediaSki Rex Media On Instagram: @skirexmediaSki Rex On YouTube: Ski Rex MediaEmail Ski Rex Media: skirex4ever@gmail.com--Ski Rex Media Is On Patreon--If you would like to support Ski Rex Media, and believe me, it will be wicked appreciated, you can head to my Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/skirexmediaThe Ski Rex Media Podcast Is Also Available Through;BuzzsproutSpotifyiHeartRadioApple Podcasts or The Apple Podcasts AppStitcherAmazon MusicPandoraThe Ski Rex Media Mersh Shop is open and ready for you.
